SYMBIOSIS is a Public Charitable Trust registered under the provisions of the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 and Societies Registration Act 1860, having its registered office at Senapati Bapat Road, Pune-411004. Its motto is "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakkam" meaning "World is one Family”. Established on 26th January 1971, Symbiosis today is a family of 45 institutions spread across 18 campuses in India, with an ‘on campus’ student strength of 32,029, including 1676 International Students, representing 85 countries. Over 2, 50,000 students are enrolled for the distance education programs.
Symbiosis is committed to provide comprehensive health care to its student community as well as to its faculty. Symbiosis International University offers medical facilities for all its students, teaching and non-teaching staff through Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC).
SCHC was established in 1997 with the mission of addressing the healthcare needs, primarily of the students of Symbiosis, envisioning a state of ‘Positive Health’ in them. Health and wellness are vital issues relevant to the academic success of students at Symbiosis. It is the “In-house Health Care Unit” of Symbiosis which provides preventive, curative and promotive health care services.
